Hi Asteroider,
The news is pretty much best bet to follow what is happening.

However it does not appear to be a major point of discussion in Italy from what I can see. It also must be noted that the industry minister or the like believes it is not required...

I still belive it to be more about politics; when it is all said and done they are importing bucket loads of oil and if the US and others all stop exploration the price of oil will sky rocket and force them all to deal with the people they dont want to... this wont be palatable when people go to fill their cars..
