    re: rdf Have a look at Cochlear's annual report for 1996 financials on their website. Similar profitability. They had some competition, and some rough spots and write offs to make a loss in 1995 (and came out of liquidation).

    The comparison with RDF is uncanny and the sp was about $4 after the annual report came out - now they are $50.

    I think there is a fair chance of increasing your money tenfold over the next decade. Does not seem likely you will lose more than half from here as they are killing the market. They are the only competitor that can afford decent R and D.

    Partly for these reasons I have a big holding, and I'm staying. (Have small holding in Cochlear too - I was luck and got them in the slump - have doubled my holding of rdf in this slump too!)

    Can't predict the sp over the short term - but over the long term I feel really confident. Even if it was to be 50/50 that I lose the lot versus increase tenfold - I'm still in. that is a great deal too (although I think the odds are more in my favour).

    I just want to see RDF continue to rule their market niche, and I'll hold.
