"antibotter - i can see the % raises are not frightening but the cost to mrm of employing people muct be above $200 000 p.a. based on what i read in the afr about 1 month ago
whilst most of these costs can be passed on, we also know if there are unscheduled interruptons to business then it could be very costly to mrm - we saw effects in qld floods and cyclones on other contractors
just as a footnote, somewhat abstract i guess but if we say that staff costs are $100000 more than "average" then a capl'n of that cost would be about $1m - so 100 staff on the big money , then in theory the company's capitalisation is $100 million less! "
Between caving in to staff demands and milking the company by directors (plus the oil downtourn of course ) its no wonder it is a basket case!!!
The old saying -(very old) - "look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves !"
I think everyone in mrm were "making hay while the sun shines" and never "putting aside for a rainy day"
antibottler - when i saw u come into spl, I knew I knew you from somewhere - I dont know if I realised it may have been mainly here!
lucky to have got out of last mine about $3.40 in late 2013 - I still have a daughter stuck in them however, thanks to me!!
