This year, Bouris has found himself without the backing of long-term supporter Macquarie Group and in the crosshairs of an aggressive takeover bid from Mercantile.
For now, Bouris (who owns 18 per cent of YBR) still appears to have the support of Nine Entertainment (with an 18 per cent stake) and Rich Lister Chris Ellison who owns 5.1 per cent.
Director of listed hedge fund East 72 Andrew Brown, who started buying YBR at 10¢, said with a solid amount of mortgage trail income commission and net tangible assets at close to 14¢ the company had a lot of potential upside.
"It's a discount to NTA play," he said. "The opportunity being it could be worth up to 20¢."
