iSoft picks up renewals worth ?5.4m

Two trusts in Yorkshire have renewed their contracts with iSoft for patient administration systems and one has also extended its deals for radiology and theatre systems.

The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has extended its contract for iSoft's PatientCentre patient administration system for three years with the option of a further two years.

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has signed a three-year extension and also extended its contracts for radiology information and theatre systems.

Under a new managed services agreement, iSOFT will to continue to host Hull?s systems at its data centre at Prestwich.

Both deals include a move to HP?s latest iTanium hardware for improved performance and resilience and to provide a platform to introduce other iSoft clinical applications, such as e-prescribing.

The deal is worth a total of ?5.4m. However, iSoft says the trusts expect savings in the long run through increased efficiency.

Leeds has used iSoft patient administration systems for more than seven years across its five hospitals. Hull is also a long-standing customer.
