Nice post gsmi086. I always thought you would be one of the last true believers on this thing.
The company has a cash burn of $500k a month. There is no hope on generating significant revenue.
Sonosentry (the revamped decade old Wheezometer) has never sold anywhere. OTC or by prescription. Why anyone who cant afford a mobile phone in a poor country would buy a Sonosentry is mindboggling ... and in terms of medical benefit ... absurd.
Sonosentry with app (Airsonea) is approved in Australia. $1.9m on advertising sells 19 grand of product. This is Australias first big mHealth trainwreck.
I disagree with you about the absence of product in pharmacies. People generally don’t purchase $160 medical devices from 19 year old pharmacy assistants at cosmetics counters. Purchases are made on the advice of “serious” health professionals.
In the August 2014 edition of “Medical Observer” there was a five page very detailed spread on paediatric asthma. This magazine / journal would be the most widely read of anything in the Australian medical community. No mention of Isonea at all. ISN has achieved zero penetration into the medical community ... as the sales reflect.
The device and app are not recommended in any treatment guidelines or by national authorities. In Australia or anywhere. They will not be recommended until there is high quality evidence for efficacy. Which would require large costly trials (not small safety or useability surveys) and take years to complete.
In terms of rabbit out of the hat. FDA approval for AirSonea is very unlikey. It will be years in the coming. If at all ... long difficult process as the company now acknowledges. But it probably doesn't matter because it doesn't sell here (already approved) and so it wont sell there.
On the positive there is a bit of interest in using mHealth to monitor asthma medication compliance. Which seems to be what ISN have recently taken a patent for ... and I suppose for a few million could develop an app for. But other people will do it cheaper and quicker.
So basically this thing comes down to whether you think BM or some other high net worth individuals will support a dog ... on the idea it might turn around somehow. But they (and you) wouldn’t want to pay too much for your shares ...
Quite what would possess BM to throw more money at this thing is a little bit difficult to fathom. I’m sure theres an element of the grass being greener on the other side of the fence ... but honestly if I had a few lazy tens of millions lying around ... whats wrong with pokie machines?
