Look at oil/markets at start of October when the groping tape came out and everyone thought Clinton would win. Then came the fbi announcement and oil dropped. Why do elections move markets a bit?
Clinton wins - things go along as per normal
Trump wins - who knows what is going to happen. He said in his first 100 days he is going to tear up the trade agreements. Do that and up go tariffs, tariffs actually retard growth (read about the tariffs during the Great Depression), so lower growth lower everything
However, the potus doesn't have much power to change things as everything must be approved by the senate/congress
