Airlines are really stuck between a rock and a hard place with the price of fuel. In hindsight they should have hedged their fuel costs when it was in the sixties. Seems that 50% of their profitability depends on their treasury forecasting the price of oil accurately and the rest on route selection, yields, pricing, customer service, etc.
Really hard to see how they are gonna make money when they can't turn a profit even in good economic times because of price of fuel. Tiger also has not helped.
