I did watch the video you provided and though having watched it before found it very interesting. I like Kirk Sorensen and his thoughts on the use of thorium for energy and the need for research in this area.

What Kirk said in the video was that the improvements in earphones was because of the use of Nd.

Neither Kirk or anyone else in the video mentioned Dy specifically. The only alluded to Dy in the suite of heavy rare earths shown in the charts with the all the heavy rare earths. I don't believe the video you have provided supports your arguments at all.

Dy may be necessary for future high end magnets but it would appear not in the quantity that you are suggesting.
