Even some of the company's biggest supporters, like me, are underestimating the potential of the Vivid Industrial business.

When the recent announcement of the technology rights to allow sales into South Africa was made I dismissed it as thinking the market in that country would be rather insignificant.

Then whilst listening to the cricket yesterday on a South African radio station I heard numerous ads regarding a government initiative on energy efficiency. I looked into it further and found what appears to be a perfect storm for our company in the South African market.

From the various sources I listened to as well as looked at online I found that electricity prices have risen from 45c per kwh in January 2009 to $1.72 per kwh in July 2014 which is a 283% increase in less than six years.

Furthermore, the body that oversees energy price rises in the country has apparently agreed to price increases over the next few years that represent a further increase of up to 47% in electricity costs for businesses across the country with further price increases in addition to that likely.

As if sharply rising electricity prices weren't bad enough there are also problems with the electricity supply meaning it will be under pressure for years to come and poses real problems for the viability of companies SA-wide.

In that light if you have technology like Vivid Industrial does which is suitable for warehouses, distribution centres, cold storage facilities, ports, stadiums, car parks, roads and tunnels with such substantial energy savings as 60% - 80% of lighting energy costs then SA could be a really big market for the company, a market I had previously discounted.

I guess all this does is just underline to me that even though I know this is big, I don't fully appreciate just how big and this is just SA.

We also have access to Australia, NZ, south-east Asia and North America as well.

Talk about having a bright future!
