The yanks do hate it, but the Australian govt find it hard to justify it. On this issue the Libs and Nats are divided. Howard would like to modify the single desk, but not in a way which allows america to steal our market. Our govt are still p#ssed that the US govt give huge farm subsidies to their farmers and our own govt will make legislation which is friendly towards grain growers. But, as for AWB's role in this their competitors will eat into their market share.
