Hindmost, do you use banks/currency issued by rba? The money you deposit is actually a loan to the bank (who pays you interest), they then "invest" this money further. Your 1 dollar becomes 2 in much the same way.
The short term oversupply is guaranteed to be neutralised and someone is paying for this. When you take a loan for a house the short term money supply has also increased in much the same way. You pay interest for this right of "early consumption"
I dont think you understood what i meant with synthetic short position comment. If you buy a put the bank will short sell in the market. In the normal market. However, they can buy another put or two or some other derivative and pass the risk on. Rest assurred, your derivative punt will result in a short in the market. The derivative market and the stock market are not independent, activities in 1 reflect in the other.
