We’ll know by the end of the month whether CM8 is way undervalue because the issue of the half yearly accounts will spark some sort of SP reaction. If the SP goes up a lot as a result, then yes it was undervalued, if the SP blah blah blah.
All will be revealed in coming weeks before the end of February, about three weeks away. Last year, CM8 issued its half yearly on Feb. 27. In the absence of a scheduled date on the company website, no reason to think this year would be much different. I reckon Monday Feb. 26, or 27 or 28.
When the SP traded at 10.5 cents on Monday, that represented a 56% tumble from its 24c high a little over 4 months ago in late September. I contend most of this reflects a lack of news and a focus by the market in other investment areas.
Chairman Theo Hnarakis said November at the AGM the success being seen in CM8’s two main business units, plus the investment in a new and potentially highly lucrative new digital influencers unit, plus significant debt reduction means “we are paving a strong foundation for 2018 and beyond.”
Chief executive Domenic Carosa’s Summary went like this: profitable technology company; increasing global growth opportunities including the digital influencer marketing space; strengthening balance sheet.
Key First quarter metrics for this fiscal year as outlined at the AGM generally were well in advance of the previous corresponding period..
It looks to me like CM8 might unveil a cracking result late February, if anyone gives a toss by then. With a few exceptions such as BIG and GMV, the tech sector has been overshadowed by the intense interest among punters, er speculators, er investors in all things lithium, cobalt and the like.
CM8 staff may well have been enjoying the time out of the limelight, beavering away and growing the business strongly. There now seems to be a huge amount of business ticking over with the digital influencer’s unit.
But what would I know? I still punt on mineral explorers, drill bits turning up Earth. What a hopeless optimist.
