is axm mill destroying au yield by 10%?

thought i'd ring Mark Ashley on his cell and ask some questions, however cell supposedly no longer connectable for this NZ caller.

while searching for the mill layout i came across this study of the wiluna plant.Presented at Metplant 2008

The telling statement was "the day after the data was collected, the mine was sold and further trials were not possible.

    www.magotteaux.com/.../mixed-media-grinding-a-refractory-gold-c..

As a summary(apologies for any errors)
At the time there were two streams for processing material before the flotation circuit.

line 1- a ball mill and a cyclone(for oxide ore)
    line 2- a rod mill(forged)and a ball mill and then a cyclone.(for sulphide ore)

However both lines were now being fed sulphide ore.
Both cyclone circuits reported near the same PPM output.

Analysis of the cyclone processability from each cyclone produced a significantly different grade of processable ore thru the floatation process.

The difference was marked namely around 10% yield difference
line 1- giving yields of 88.4-96.4% au
line 2- giving yields of 79.9-84.5% au

The reason isolated was the difference in oxygen carrying levels of the ores produced which in turn affects the biox reaction in turn, yield
    line 1-having around 200
    line 2-having around 50(1/4)

line 2-cause appears from the study to be contamination of the ore with iron from the rod mill which robs the ore of its initial oxygen and effects its oxygen reaction abilities during later processing by consuming oxygen then reacting with any process oxygen later.

line 2 produces a finer sized distribution ore with flatter visible gold with imbedded sacrificial iron contaminating the surface of the sulphide ore.

line 1 produces an ore with better chemistry although courser.

DYOR-read the paper and make up your own mind.

The question i want answered - IS THE ROD MILL STILL IN THE CIRCUIT doing what it apparently always has-namely lowering gold yield of sulphide ore thru it by 10% as it was apparently doing uptil this trial in DEC 2007?

Or has the plant been modified and it removed long ago?
