I think the sell off will happen if people suspect the SP to remain at those low prices and then you'll get the quarterly re-balance from the ASX. It also depends on the SP performance of those companies that are chasing the ASX 200 list.
If the SP goes down then the company will need to issue more shares to boost the MC.
