STO will start their 2019 drilling program for 4 wells in WA in early March.
Planned wells are Corvus-2, Dorado-2, Roc South-1 & Dorado-3. The jack-up rig Noble Tom Prosser left Darwin yesterday. It's apprx 1800 kms tow for the rig to Corvus-2 location in WA-45R block. Well co-ords are: -20.11803, 116.060738 & the Vessel can b tracked on MarineTraffic (GPS went offline at 7.15pm).
Corvus-2 will b an interesting appraisal of the Mungaroo gas column discovered in 2000 by Apache using the Ensco-56 jackup. This well TD'd over 4000m depth & was then sidetracked with 3 DST's in the gas bearing sands, took 60 odd days in all due to the planned activity. STO's plan is to use this gas from this well as future backfill to their nearby producing Reindeer platform acquired from Quadrant. Gas flow Reindeer started in Dec 2011 to Devil Creek plant onshore & GSA was in place with CITIC.
