You're wrong. RHY wants to replace the FIT as the initial screen for patients who are averse to FIT such as those who are 'culturally sensitive'. A positive from the blood test would lead the patient to undergo a colonoscopy, which is the gold standard for detection. Caltostat and the FIT CANNOT be used for a definite diagnosis. Early result's from RHY's test demonstrated that it was marginally better for early detection and equivalent for later detection. Your logic is that biomarkers present in the blood for colorectal cancer will lead to a more sensitive screen, however the results so far indicate that Caltostat is equivalent to the FIT test. How do you explain that? MAYBE it's because the identified biomarkers may not be as specific for the disease as you so greatly hope. There is no data, but merely assumptions, present to suggest that Caltostat will produce less false positives.

I reiterate, the only selling argument for this intervention is if the technology proves itself in trials as being significantly better than FIT for early detection and that it caters for those who cannot stomach the FIT. When the product is adequately trialled, it may not demonstrate such a statistically significant advantage over FIT. If it turns out to be only merely equivalent, those few extra % of uptake for screenings will not even justify a mc HALF of what it is at its current level.
