There is no guarantee that the stool sample will touch the cancerous cells so lots of false negatives. Whereas with antibodies the cells are in the blood and can be detected much earlier with higher degree of efficacy (5 studies so far suggest).
The blood protein test will be able to be tested at a regular path lab from a regular blood sample. If clinical trials are successful then it could be part of the workflow.
But naturally it is still speculative at this stage but reasonably derisked
