Last one for those that are unaware of the trade agreement for abalone with China sorry for the spam:

    China FTA
The historic signing of the China Free Trade Agreement in Canberra on Wednesday the 17th of June, will help the Australian abalone industry be more competitive in the world’s largest seafood market. Over the next 3 to 4 year period, import tariffs for abalone (which currently sit at 14%) will be progressively reduced to zero.
In the months leading up to the announcement of the China FTA by Chinese President Xi Jinping in November of 2014, the Seafood Trade Advisory Group (STAG) – a joint initiative of Abalone Council Australia Ltd, Southern Rock Lobster Ltd and the Australian Seafood CRC played an important role in ensuring that Canberra’s key trade negotiators were well informed about the value and importance of the Abalone and Lobster industries to the Australian economy. The STAG also made sure that the trade negotiators understood the significance of a tariff reduction in terms of the positive effect this would have on abalone and lobster exports.
I am pleased to say that the Australian Government negotiators listened to what we had to say and pushed hard with their Chinese counterparts to secure a great outcome for the abalone and lobster industries.
Below is a link to the STAG Media Release regarding this historic step forward, and a further link to a STAG fact sheet regarding the benefits of the China FTA to Australia’s abalone and lobster industrie
