    Hi @big invoices,

Thanks for your reply and some insight on ABA.

The purpose I was asking about a price to purchase a license to harvest is to do a quick "back of envelope" cross comparison of OGA's production to wild caught.

    According to:
    http://www.fish.gov.au/reports/molluscs/abalones/Pages/greenlip_abalone.aspx
Wild caught greenlip quota averages around 700 tonnes per year for the last 15 years for the whole of Australia. OGA producing 100 tonnes in 2019, in my view, it is significant. When OGA gain the capacity to produce 600 tonnes, it would contribute almost 50% of sea harvested abalone from Australia.

From what I also have heard in a conversation, blacklips abalones move around while grazing, whereas greenlips stay at the same spot and thrive in areas with strong current feeding on food carried in it. I have heard of failure in ranching in the east but was told they were ranching the blacklip species.

Finally, on the topic of disease, it can be of great concern. However, with diversification of ranching grounds in different areas, different states, hopefully it will mitigate this risk.
