    The shares are the same shares for Kirkland Lake Gold that are traded on the TSX and the NYSE. There are no new shares issued for ASX. There is no dilution. You can put in a bid on as many shares as you like. I don't know the precise mechanism, but an international broker whose job it is to do these things, will make the transaction happen if your bid is high enough and not enough shares are available on the ASX. The shares will be moved from the TSX or NYSE to the ASX.

    I have bought/sold shares of a thinly traded stock (only one transaction a day) on the US OTC market, and both the OTC and TSX show the exact same count of share volume as my transaction. Some behind the scenes broker did the transaction, completely invisible to me.

    (Since I'm in the US, I hold the stock as KL on the New York Stock Exchange.)
