variety of asx listed minnow 'national hire limited' (NHR) equipment being used on this large project

the revenue from this project might add a bit to the bottom line and see sharp reversal in profit

god knows all things being ok they might even recommence paying a dividend

now that will be a nice little yield when good yields are
    becomming more difficult to find

other companies present on this large project are leightons and coates to name a few

u can't go to far wrong getting into bed with the likes of 'LEI' of this world

    SPENCER STREET STATION REDEVELOPMENT

The Victorian Government has announced a private/public partnership with the Civic Nexus consortium to redevelop the Spencer Street Station precinct and create a new, world-class transport hub.

Construction of the new station precinct begins in September and will conclude in mid-2005, in time for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

Designed to change the face of City’s western edge, the $700 million grand-scale development will take up the space of three city blocks and provide a dramatic new gateway to Docklands.

As well as the station, there will be an office block, two apartment towers and a shopping plaza.

The redeveloped station will bring together the best elements of modern, international station design to create a user-friendly, airport-style facility that will be comfortable, convenient and safe for passengers. The innovative construction with its glass frontage to Spencer Street and stylish Collins Street access will create a new civic landmark for Melbourne.

The station will remain fully operational throughout the three year construction period and, when complete in 2005, will be renamed Southern Cross Station.

The new transport interchange will be fully accessible to all users and will facilitate easy transfers between train, bus, tram and taxi services. It will also provide high-quality station facilities for train and bus passengers on metropolitan, regional and interstate services.

One of the most exciting features of the redevelopment will be the enhanced pedestrian access between the City and the Docklands via the new Collins Street extension and the Lonsdale Street walkway.

The new Southern Cross Station will provide for a full range of passenger facilities, featuring:
staffed ticket offices and automatic ticketing equipment
improved passenger safety and security facilities such as open planning and closed circuit television monitoring, plus ready access to passenger help points and alarms connected to an on-site control room
timetable and service information, public address systems and clear and prominent signage throughout the station
upgraded platforms and comfortable transit lounges beneath an innovative, wave-shaped roof that will promote natural ventilation and light
catering and retail outlets to serve the needs of passengers
a 26-bay bus station to handle terminating and transiting coaches and buses, with ticketing facilities and waiting areas for passengers
secure 800 temporary and short-stay car spaces built on two levels above the new bus interchange to serve passengers and shoppers
efficient baggage handling facilities for interstate and long-distance rail and coach operations
a new footbridge linking Lonsdale Street Walk with Telstra Stadium and connecting with the shopping plaza
direct access to the Docklands links via Collins Street and the Bourke Street bridge from all platforms
conservation and relocation of the Transport Mural to the new Collins Street concourse
easy access to the main terminal for tram passengers travelling along Spencer Street and the new Collins Street extension
The redevelopment is a key component of the $3.5 billion Linking Victoria initiative to revitalise transport infrastructure in partnership with the private sector.
