These things actually happen 'regularly' in the spec space with companies that have good stories coming up. It has happened to me on XPE big time and churning, accumulating then selling shitloads, pumping and dumping. These are all rorts that go on all the time.

What I want is something done about it and I hope the banking royal commission gives ASIC a massive kick up the backside(and some money) so they can police the law, the standards and codes of practice properly.

ASIC is a big joke. They catch the biggest smelliest fish after journalists highlight an issue, meanwhile have lunch with finance industry types on a daily basis. All the pesky little fish running these scams get away with it forever and its ignored because catching one fish doesnt stop it. Well if one fish went to jail for 10 years, and banned from ever holding a license as a broker/trader EVER again, it would stop pretty damn quickly. Always going to be a few serious hard criminal types left hanging around, but the majority of these scam artists would think again I reckon. Maybe get smarter, so the rules have to get simpler. You trade from one hand to the other, your going down !
