NMC811 is seen as the better, cheaper, & format flexible alternative to the Tesla direction cylinder cells. IF Thermal Cycling issues are addressed.

LG Chem & SK Innovations battery manufacturers are bitter rivals in the Pouch/Prismatic space - law suits at ten paces. They are also heading the push into NMC811 deployment. LG Chem are concurretly going down commercialising cylinder NMC811 batteries for EV Buses & pursuing Pouch R&D. Either would be keen to gain a market march on the other (& Samsung/Panasonic). Anteo had external data validation testing conducted by CustomCells GbmH specifically for pouch format on NMC622 - 811 is a setup up again.
