Hi all,

Have been doing a lot of research since my initial post, have found the advise on HC very valuable along with reading articles from sites like livewire.com

Have come to the come to the conclusion that I will manage the investment myself and stay away from advisors at this stage. Am also going to gradually enter the market when opportunities arrive rather than dump in all at once.

So far I have invested in:

WMI
FGG

Got in when were trading close to NTA, although at a slight premium. Looking to add maybe 5 or so more along the way. Like the look of the WCM Global Growth Fund that @woollydog has brought up - health and technology focussed. Currently researching other good international/asia funds to add.

I would appreciate any thoughts on keeping the portfolio balanced. I do have an investment property and an offset account on the family home with a chunk of cash in it. Does this count as a "cash" and "property" component of a balanced portfolio or should I be looking at REITs etc.
