I agree that organic fodder won't be cheap, but I heartily disagree that they don't know a thing about farming.
Seems to me from the following announcment extracts that they are acutely aware of the need to restrict stock numbers to the home grown feed available (with perhaps a reasonable amount bought as the need arises).
These are two extracts from the announcment 5 October 2018
Organic in-conversion Yaringa farm – purchase completed
Included in the sale was the transfer of a leased 368 acre out-paddock at Grassmere for raising young stock and harvesting extra hay and silage.
AHF’s Farms Operations Manager anticipates approximately 450 milking cows will initially be relocated to Yaringa and the number will progressively build to around 700 head as grass and paddocks are rejuvenated and irrigated.
Also from an announcement 30 August 2018
Livestock on the farm are not included in the purchase as AHF has high quality young stock available from existing AHF farms for relocation to Yaringa.
