It is mission impossible to remove an incompetent teacher and Principals were never supported by the Department or their local regional office to do so.

The reality is some of these teachers cannot cope with kids in the classroom in an ever changing world. It is a tough job and with every second kid coming from a broken home it will get more challenging.

If this project driven do nothing government were serious they would re-train these under performing teachers into other professions. No that cost money!!! Considering the Brumby and Bracks were former teachers it is an absolute disgrace the way they have treated teachers in Victoria.
When the older brigade of teachers retire, much of the goodwill that has been relied upon will be lost.
Instead this Brumby government has followed the Kennett philosophies with global budgeting and continued to crush this profession through the demands VELS and the new report writing jargon that parents cannot understand.

There is no way the younger teachers starting out will survive 30 years at the front line of teaching in a disadvantaged high school.

As a society we will pay a price for undervaluing the good will that this profession continues to give.

By the way I just purchases ABS. I need to retire early!
