News I think youu were writing about my niece and nephew. Their parents spent a fortune on private school education which seems to be a total waste. The only thing I believe they learnt at school was how to use a mobile phone.
As to your comments in paragraphs 1 and 2, these were spot on.
When I lectured I was appalled by the number of students whose grasp of the English language was almost non existant and this is despite needing a pass in one of the English language subjects.
