I think it's a stretch too far to suggest the latest numbers update is just the CEO talking down the future to feather her own nest. The chairman & board are not going to stand by & allow a new CEO to trash talk the company for her own benefit. All releases to the market are approved by the board, you can be assured the message given by the CEO has been vetted by the board beforehand. The reason why there is a new CEO is due to the current performance of the business. The board made the right decision to appoint an outsider to reinvigorate the company (no sacred cows) but whether they appointed the right person only time will tell. Too early to jump in yet as it has a way to fall to represent fair value.
