Malaysian PM warns Philippines against foreigner influx, meaning Chinese workers and Chinese loans. He also pleads for a free navigation over the South China Sea. Apparently Mahathir is clearly distancing itself from its predecessor, Najib Razak. He also is renegotiating some previous deals with the Chinese and cancelled some deals. 
And what to think of this statement;
"We have a proper definition of what constitutes foreign direct investments. It is all about bringing in capital, technology, employing our people and improving contributions to the economy. But foreign direct investments should not involve bringing huge numbers of foreigners to live in the country because that might disturb the political equations in the country," he said.
IMO he is distancing from China and regarding the above statements I expect him to solve the current Lynas problems in a gentleman's way, thereby addressing and correcting some uneducated and immature actions of a few members of his cabinet.
