Hi Kooka, Agreed DES is positioning itself well as an "early bird". The article points to where we are going. What was thought to be a long way off or not viable only a few years ago, now not only seems possible and logical but may be here quicker than one would expect. From another article I recently read
    (http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,22980181-5006368,00.html) in part says:

Mr Carosa points to the coming age of digital television in 2009, when five free-to-air channels will spawn 15.

"We're starting to see a shift, with power coming back to the consumer,'' Mr Carosa says.

The advent of devices such as TiVo make it much easier to avoid commercials, seriously challenging the business models of traditional free-to-air television businesses.

"Until recently, if you had content and wanted to distribute it, you effectively had a number of free-to-air companies to negotiate with, but the power of the traditional gatekeepers is diminishing,'' Mr Carosa said.

Destra is confronting the new paradigm by offering "embedded branded content'' and not just to the big networks, also signing deals with platforms like MySpace. END

DES seems to have the ties, connections and support to be a sucessful digital media organisation. PRIMES stake in DES lessens the likelihood of a takeover, but I beleive there will be rapid consolidation and fantastic growth opportunities occuring in this sector of the market when some runs are on the board.

I'm holding a fair whack (% of my portfollio) of DES shares in anticipation of substantial SP appreciation that could result from any DES announcent,v the risk of SP stagnation while the market fence sits. Quartly due in FEB may surprise. The other factor for me is if Lachlan increases his holdings so will I. Finally I think Institutional support cant be too far off, remembering Macquarie Bank has moved into Hyro (HYO).

This is all imo of course and DES is not without its risks.

    Cheers

    Oscar
