Yes, the Glencore who we now know won't be selling any Cobalt from their Katanga mine for the rest of 2019 due to....uranium issues.
As it currently stands, even with Katanga at full production, they will have throughput of 12,000,000tpa at 0.4%.
WFE as it currently stands at: ~640,000tpa at ~1.0% = 13.3% of Glencore's Katanga ~640,000tpa at ~1.5% = 20.0% of Glencore's Katanga (one fifth) ~640,000tpa at ~2.0% = 26.7% of Glencore's Katanga ~640,000tpa at ~2.5% = 33.3% of Glencore's Katanga (one quarter)
One Fifth. I'll be happy with that.
All assuming similar Cobalt recoveries (65% for Katanga) of course, which may not be realistic, given WFE's recoveries from near-Likasi sourced Cobalt could be closer to 80%. Waiting for metallurgist Marc Steffens to finish up the met optimisation, which shouldn't be the hardest thing in the world, given we're sourcing from nearby BROWNFIELD mines for our BROWNFIELD operation.
