There's no way that it would not have been much better to do it back then.
People buying a stock look for near term catalysts which will likely push a stock higher in order to feel comfortable with buying. The 40nm megabit array was a prime example.
Once that was achieved the SP started to pull back.
Right now there is not enough to speculate on to attract buyers.
Much better to have done it back then IMO.
