most of these areas were flooded in 1974...hard to see suncorp or any insurer exposing itself to damages of future floods unless policy holders were willing to pay a premium...there are good articles in todays AFR dealing with this subject..my sympathies lie with those affected by this event...insurers will protect themselves though
