Just a couple of thoughts.

Is it possible AOE could negotiate their way into the JV between Shell/Ptr?

AOE's tenements could be transfered into the JV for say a 30% interest and the remainder in cash.

If the board feel it is essential that AOE is involved in a LNG project would it be possible to also take a 10% holding in Shell's Curtis Island Project?

This would leave AOE with their international business and the Queensland generation assets.

Shell needs AOE's reserves for their planned 16mtpa Curtis Island Project. AOE wants to remain as an independent player and maintain growth.

Shareholders would be in favour of such an outcome. We would benefit from Shells expertise in building an LNG project, and have the largest Gas player in China tied in as a key customer.

Is a senario like this a possible outcome?
