    Good find jimbo.

This puts some numbers around my argument wind will be the big winner in the shift to renewables.

Solar installations are by irrational, dispersed players - if putting solar on the roof is a 'no-brainer' for enough households, they will flatten the midday peak . Their output and influence can be calculated by looking out the window. Adding batteries just spreads their price-deadening wider.

Wind is concentrated in few, rational hands. Adding a battery ends intermittency and allows wind farms to arbitrage from very low night prices to anywhere in the day they choose. If solar flattens the peak, this still leaves morning and evening demand as contestable.

Individual solar + battery kits will likely be aggregated by intermediaries for their own benefit - after all, households cannot monitor minute by minute price fluctuations and usefully play the market.

And solar + batteries just ate pumped hydro's lunch.
