I'm now thinking that the reason SKK Migas are not issueing a SAL (sale certificate) to EWC for them to sell gas to Perusda (PGN) has something to do with PT Pertamina's plan to acquire PT Perusahaan (PGN).
PT Pertamina is a State-owned oil and gas company and over the last few years has suffered financial losses of approx US$1.8 billion from selling LPG gas canisters below market price.
PT Perusahaan (PGN) is a public company and the government controls a 57% stake in the company. They are at present moving forward at a great pace acquiring gas holdings throughout Indonesia. They are also talking about building 10-16 receival plants for LNG in certain areas of Indonesia.
Back in 2009 PGN signed a sale agreement to purchase 1 to 5mtpa of LNG from EWC. How that agreement stands at the moment I don't know.
However, the strange thing about all of this is that EWC have said nothing at all about the results of their second well at Sengkang but other Indonesian identities are talking about the amount of untapped gas in that area.
On another note, was anyone invited to the laying of the first stone at the LNG Plant last monday???
After reading all articles etc I believe more than ever that EWC are going to come out on top and that the SP will take off very soon.
The half yearly is out at the end of the month and maybe we will get the positive information all shareholders deserve.
