Noodly back in 2013 Imery placed 50 to 70 VRF back up batteries in telco repeater sites in India as part of an expected roll out into rural non access to power India. Then subcontracting with Sun Edison they were meant to supply 1000 to be followed up with about 5000 30 kw 120kw/hr units as part of the power up of rural India. It was all very promising but Sun Edison went belly up early 2016 and the project colapsed. Im not sure what happened to Emery after that.
The article to which you refer shows that Indua still srious about Microgrid roll out and they are a great emerging nation to show case the benefits of msking sustainable energy available to the many without.
i really hope it get sustainable traction this time round.
