If the news following the trading halt is unreservedly good and causes a jump in the sp, the elephant-trackers of the exchange must be unleashed.
The reason being that directors and certain allied parties were reportedly (or shoudl I say allegedly) accumulating shares/options prior to the trading halt.
As a shareholder - of long standing - I have a lot more than a few thousand dollars at stake.
However, it's funny that we lament the absence of a transparent and honest trading environment only when it suits us.
So if we really want transparency it's up to each individual investor - whether it suits them or not - to lobby for the investigation of any transaction that might even LOOK suspicious.
It is quite probable that there is no unethical or illlegal dealing whatsoever, but that is not the issue at stake.
