That link you have provided is great @tony2times
The statement, "Vollkswagen wants to have 80 electric car models by 2025. To power those cars, the company would need the battery production capacity of four Tesla factories, or 140 GWh". (1)
140GwH!!! The European Battery alliance conservatively estimated that the EU region would require a capacity of 200GhW p.a. in 2025. (2)
It seems the downrampers have blinkers on. The battery requirement for the EU alone is massive. If Northvolt, Terra E, Listrom, Samsung and LG Chem all reached their desired capacity in Europe, it's totals less than 110GwH!!
In other words... there is still an enormous projected battery deficit in Europe.
Of course VW has to sign a battery supply deal now if they intend to have EV's rolling off the production line by the end of the year. Listrom won't be in production until end of 2019
It seems impossible that 1 battery supplier can meet VW's anticipated 140GwH p.a. 2025 requirement.
VW will have to sign with other battery suppliers which, is obviously why they are in talks with Magnis, as has been reported.
No better industry to be in... the EV era is the golden age for a battery producer like Magnis
