Sunday is always a good time to think. To be lost in one’s own thoughts. Stay at home and surrender yourself to BOREDOM on the sofa. But then few people have time for boredom.
In this time of multi-screen reality, WWW, tweeter, facebook, texting, boredom has been thrown out to the the dustbin of history. Loss of boredom means the loss of self.
The world makes sure that one does not find oneself. Few places today uphold the right to be bored. Silent and lifeless, people sit side by side as if their souls were wandering away. But souls are not wandering according to their own preference; they are being bombarded by external new bites, opinions, concepts, information structures of all sorts. We have become a playground for worldwide noises.
To be present we need to cultivate RADICAL BOREDOM. To content ourselves with doing nothing other than being ourselves, without knowing what we should actually be doing. Then one experiences a kind of joy that is almost heavenly.
