Agree with most -- disagree with her dragging her feet -- but, I do think it's all to do with timing.
The timing was never right for impeachment before the next election because the Mueller probe was always going to take time and it's the investigations that will spin off that that will do the damage most probably. In addition, the Democrats got the house back only 10 weeks ago apx.. They still haven't got the Senate.
Unless a bullet proof case for impeachment was ready to go by now - especially with the Senate in Republican hands - then, it's not a runner.
No President has been removed - and, it's a political process, not a legal process.
To me - the way the timing is - they (Democrats) will either allow it to go with Trump as contender to the next election or with who ever the Republicans put up.
There's a lot of water to go under the bridge beforehand and the outcomes from all that will have their own paths --- there will be evidence of crime - how that effects the Republicans themselves remains to be seen - how the public reacts to the news will be important and how the public expect the Republicans to react will be very important.
If Trump is forced to resign he will probably face criminal charges. If he goes to the election and is beaten - he will probably face he same.
One of the more interesting things that very well may happen is when one of the investigations finds that he is indictable - what happens then - the issue of the sitting President situation comes up.
By far and away to me, what's the most important is how the Republicans act - indeed - it would not surprise me at all if evidence surfaces (whether or not charges get laid) - that the Republicans will go for impeachment -- NOT the Democrats -
that would throw the cat among the birdies -- and, why might they do that?
they might because if they didn't they would suffer worse decimation in the election than if they did not in the face of evidence -
of course, they would be going to get Trump to resign as a priority - but, if he dug in and didn't - then, I could see the Republicans trying to impeach him
that would be a historical wow moment
