WALL Street shares have tumbled as an unexpected jump in weekly initial jobless claims and a disappointing survey on manufacturing stokes concerns over economic recovery. The Dow Jones Industrial Average skidded 203.00 points (2.09 per cent) in closing trades to 9509.28 today, reflecting the worst day in stocks in months.
The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite slumped 64.94 points (3.06 per cent) to 2057.48 and the Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 27.24 points (2.58 per cent) to a provisional close of 1029.84.
