Went to Weir and won like a champion first up. Cost $1.6 million so it was imperative that it didn't fail. My mate couldn't believe the improvement by the horse. Who knows?

Not you that is for sure.
Talk about needing a BS meter, that post would go through the roof!
This thread is a kangaroo court.
I can think of four very good reasons straight up for this supposedly unbelievable improvement from Chauffeur namely:
1/ sustained beach workouts at Warrnambool,
2/ better diet and feeding regimes,
3/ Weir's repeated one mile uphill straight workouts,
4/ Natural improvement with age and over time in full training coming from being in a competitive training atmosphere and a heavier, sustained, training-workouts' regime.
Phar Lap didn't win or even place for several starts and he took a long time in work and racing to get fit and gallop fast.
Many here, without hearing a word in defence from the accused three, have gone straight for the jugular.
I think the cobalt 'scandal' was overblown and a terrible tragedy for the likes of innocents like Danny O'Brien and Peter Moody, who were hard done by [and PMoody hasn't trained again] so please do let the accused have their time in Court before you have them hanged for every query your learned "mate" ever fancifully pondered.
If Weir is found guilty then we'll all get time to sink the slipper into him then.
