Not sure if it was an interview or news report, however they stated that the fire was at the rear of the plane well before impact..
The investigators will have tough one here. Unless the recorders throws up quick answer. We only had charter aircraft but it was
often that the autopilot was switched off and flown manually. I must admit in those days the auto pilots
were mainly straight and level and nothing fancy.
