I doubt Ron really cares like many directors they have fully protected themselves with trust accounts and generous remuneration packages so even if Oilex goes belly up he will have well funded retirement that is untouchable. It seems to be a common trait amongst CEO's not to take responsibility for failure yet pay themselves handsomely. Just look at the some of the CEO's of Santos, BHP and Woodside amongst a string of others that have destroyed shareholder wealth in the last year or so. Whether it is a a penny dreadful like Oilex or a so called blue chip shareholders are the losers when a CEO makes huge blunders.
