It probably needs people who know the project, to know what the news is likely to be. You'd hope that applied to existing holders, but it's not always the case.
It's a little bit of a gamble but the odds of the announcement being good and maybe even seriously good outweigh the odds of something that's a bit negative.
IMO at least.
