WOW have spent decades positioning themselves in the best real estate across the country. It will be hard for aldi to compete on these grounds. Aldi seem to be developing a bit of cult following outside the lower socioeconomic market. Certainly no one seems embarrassed shopping, there on the contrary I have heard lots of aldi conversations ie I love those belgian chocolates etc.
Ultimately, the market will adjust to the new competition and a new steady state will develop. I think wow and coles offer a more rounded and appealing offering to aldi as a niche player.
Wow now cheaper than coles which will move sales and growth to wow. Pretty safe buying here I think.
