    KBL Goes Into Administration
We thought we would update our readers on recent events surrounding KBL Mining (ASX:KBL).
On the 13th July we wrote an article on the company (http://www.nextminingboom.com/gold-hits-new-high-asx-gold-producer-mounts-turn-around-story/ ) after undertaking our own due diligence into the stock, and deciding to make an investment ourselves.
Whilst it was a speculative investment and not for the faint hearted, at the time, a long term investment appeared sound.
On the 17th August, we followed up with another article, http://www.nextminingboom.com/kbls-gold-production-exceeds-expectations/ , and whilst the share price had retreated we were still of the opinion that it was a sound investment for the long term.
Unfortunately, KBL Mining’s (ASX:KBL) assets are now in the hands of administrators after the Australian gold producer collapsed.
Debt, a breakdown in negotiation with key service providers, dilutive capital raisings and severe weather events all played a role in KBL’s inability to continue operating.
While we felt the story had legs over the long term if the company could get its affairs in order, this was a speculative investment of ours, and success was no guarantee.
We decided to take the risk, and we took a significant hit.
Unfortunately you can’t win them all and in KBL we have been reminded of a valuable lesson: we only invest what we can afford to lose – especially in speculative mining stocks.
For the many people who invested in this stock, you are in a similar boat as us, having lost your hard earned money.
Over the coming weeks we hope to gain a clearer understanding around the future of KBL as administrators work out the best way forward.
In the meantime, we urge readers to always seek professional financial advice when looking into speculative stocks, do your own research, apply caution to an investment, and always consider your own personal circumstances and risk profile before investing.
Once again, this has been a disastrous result for many investors and we hope your recovery is swift.
All the best with your future investments.
