I called CommSec as had a similar situation about 6 months ago , got told market orders go ahead of limit orders , so if you want the stock ahead of anyone (be ahead in the que) else you have to place a market order , which I do now, so actually end up normally getting the stock cheaper as do not have to chase it as it is going up.
